Sophie joined DJB in 2023, bringing 10 years’ of City commercial property expertise.

 

Sophie is a highly experienced commercial property solicitor.   She has extensive experience in the whole spectrum of complex real estate transactions including acquisitions and disposals, developments, financings, restructurings and advising on landlord and tenant matters, for both international and national clients.

WORK HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE

  • Development work, including advising:

    • Madison Square Garden Entertainment on the site acquisition and development agreements (including TfL and Network Rail regulatory consents and other adjoining owner agreements) of the MSG Sphere London entertainment arena in Stratford.

    • Cain International on the development and pre-lets to WeWork and other tenants of The Stage, a mixed use development in the City of London.

    • British Land on the financing and development of the mixed use regeneration project at Canada Water, London.

    • Brookfield Office Properties on the financing and redevelopment of each of 99 Bishopsgate and City Gate House, City of London.

  • Financing work, including advising:

    • Societe Generale on the refinancing and post-insolvency sale of the Shearings hotel portfolio and on the financing of 30 Berkeley Square, London.

    • Deutsche Bank on the financing of a mixed use development at Chelsea Creek, London.

    • TH Real Estate on the financing of the Leadenhall Triangle development, City of London.

  • Investment and landlord and tenant work, including advising:

    • Benson Elliot on the £111m sale of The Meadows shopping centre in Chelmsford and on the acquisition and management of Guildford Business Park.

    • Brookfield Office Properties on the £211m acquisition and hive up of its interest in Moor Place.

    • QSuper on the lettings, asset management and eventual £110m sale of Exchequer Court, City of London.

    • The Blackstone Group on the asset management and preparation for sale of 125 Old Broad Street, City of London.

    • Resolution Properties on the asset management and refinancing of Programme, a mixed use development in Bristol.

  • Corporate real estate work, including advising:

    • Allianz Real Estate on its joint venture with Greystar to acquire an interest in the Chapter portfolio of student accommodation in central London.
