Our expertise is based not just upon technical legal advice, but upon over 40 years’ practical experience advising clients in the construction and engineering industries, from the structuring and procurement of delivery and design teams to the negotiation of construction contracts, appointments and warranties, through to devising strategies for Net Zero and for the effective resolution of disputes and the remediation of defects.
Whilst we endeavour to avoid disputes, in the unfortunate event of a dispute arising, we can also act for you in any mediation, adjudication, arbitration, or litigation (including in any procurement challenges).
Our Construction and Engineering team is led by Matthew Needham-Laing, who originally qualified and practiced as an Architect on major commercial developments in the 1980s before requalifying as a solicitor in the early 1990s specialising in construction and engineering law. He has significant experience in this field acting in the Higher Education sector and for a range of public sector bodies including NHS Trusts, Councils, Colleges of Higher Education, and Universities. Matthew also has extensive experience acting for developers, pharmaceutical, engineering companies and contractors in the private sector.
Matthew Needham-Laing and his fellow partner Stuart Nash have, extensive knowledge of the legal issues which arise on a range of projects, from the construction of new buildings to and including larger national and international projects.
