Kevin has worked at DJB since the firm was founded and previously practised in the Government Property Lawyers, formerly a part of the Treasury Solicitors Department.  He has therefore been a key lawyer to many of our public sector clients including Central and Local Government organisations.  Kevin carries out a wide variety of land sales and acquisitions, licences, easements and leases for various clients.  He has also worked on several of the firm’s voluntary registration schemes, personally undertaking numerous title investigations and registrations for English Heritage sites at Ironbridge and castles at Dover, Bolsover and Carlisle.  Kevin has extensive experience of Right to Buy legislation and procedure. He has a key role in undertaking this type of work on behalf of local authorities and also routine conveyancing and general property management matters.


Highlights include advising:  

  • The Royal Parks on major projects including the London 2012 Olympic Games and the 'Boris Bikes' Cycle Hire Scheme. 

  • Ministry of Defence, English Heritage, Environment Agency and numerous local authorities on their voluntary registration projects.  

  • Central Government departmental and non-departmental bodies on leases, licences, acquisitions and disposals. 

  • Natural England on both new and renewal leases for this client as well as the purchase of additional land connected with Nature Reserves.

  • Local authorities on high quantity 'right to buy' projects.  

  • Highways England on acquisition and sale work including CPO and planning blight purchase.
