Expertise

Chrisa is a planning and environmental law specialist with over 16 years’ experience. She is highly experienced in complex planning and environmental issues, having advised on planning and highway agreements, Biodiversity Net Gain, development control, enforcement, planning policy, s106 and s111 agreements as well as compulsory purchase orders to name a few. Chrisa has also been involved in many significant projects, such as the Bus Corridor scheme, the Factory and the pedestrianisation of Albert Square at Manchester City. She is a committee member of Women in planning, has contributed to Lexis Nexis planning updates as well as The Local Government Lawyer.


Work Highlights


  • Advised Cheshire West and Chester Council on complex planning, highways, environmental law, compulsory purchase, governance matters, and high-value legal agreements including s106, s111, s278, and s38.


  • Acted for Manchester City Councilon major planning, highways, and regeneration projects, including compulsory purchase orders, indemnity and development agreements, planning appeals, and judicial reviews.


  • Provided strategic advice on environmental compliance, Biodiversity Net Gain, permitted development rights, and state aid and procurement issues across multiple high-profile urban projects.


  • Supported directors and senior officers in delivering projects of public and strategic importance, including urban regeneration schemes, attending planning inquiries, High Court and Court of Appeal proceedings.


  • Drafted, negotiated, and completed a wide range of planning and highways agreements, ensuring alignment with local authority policy and statutory requirements.
