GILLIAN LEWIS

Gillian is a specialist in Commercial Property law, including development, investment and corporate occupier work.  She is dual qualified in both Scotland and England and Wales, and is able to advise on the full spectrum of matters including, but not limited to, disposals, acquisitions, conditional contracts, deeds of variation, title investigations, certificates of title, wayleaves and easements, landlord & tenant issues, leases (including the negotiation and drafting of new, renewals, sub leases ans surrenders).

She joined us from Scottish law firm Burness Paull, having previously worked for Brodies and Berwin Leighton Paisner (now Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner).

Gillian has strong commercial nous and recently completed an MBA at the University of Leicester.

Work Highlights

• Undertaking property due diligence on large-scale projects including the production of long form CLLS Certificates and other reports.

• Acting for developers in retail, leisure and office developments from site acquisition through to pre-lets and forward funding arrangements.

• Acting for funds and other landowners in the acquisition, management, re-gearing and disposal of various assets.

• Acting in portfolio sales and acquisitions across a range of sectors.

• Assisting with the property aspects of share and business sales.

• Acting for retail, leisure and office occupiers taking new units in prestige locations.

• Acted on a large-scale housing development project regarding overhead line agreements and distribution lines.
