JANE PEARSEY

Jane is an experienced commercial property solicitor with over 30 years’ experience advising on property law and business transactions. Her expertise spans acquisitions, disposals, leases, financing arrangements, estates management and planning matters. Having held senior leadership roles including Partner and Head of Department, Jane brings a wealth of experience gained across private practice and local government.

Jane has acted for SMEs, local authorities, charities, corporate clients and lenders, and has significant experience with local authority property portfolios comprising retail units, industrial estates, leisure centres, football grounds and school sites. 

Jane also advises on non-contentious planning matters, including the negotiation and drafting of Section 106 Agreements (including Biodiversity Net Gain provisions) and Deeds of Variation.

Work Highlights

• Acted for a local authority in relation to a regeneration project, advising on and completing multiple new leases on site following surrenders and preparing related legal documentation for office, retail and storage premises.

• Acted for a local authority in connection with the disposal of a multi-acre depot site, including preparing legal documentation and drafting corresponding overage agreements. 

• Acted for housebuilders on a variety of housing development projects in the East of England and Somerset, from site acquisition and financing through to the sale of properties. 

• Acted for a restaurant group in connection with establishing new premises leases across the Midlands.

• Acquired properties on behalf of a public authority to meet emergency housing requirements. Acted for various local authorities in connection with the sale of land and buildings at auction.

• Acted for a local planning authority in connection with the drafting and completion of Section 106 Agreements, particularly in relation to solar farms and biodiversity net gain (BNG) requirements, including deeds of variation
