Yohanna is a planning and environmental law expert with experience across a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters.  She has particular expertise advising on urban regeneration projects, strategic development, major/mixed-use schemes, infrastructure and energy development, and is highly experienced in the promotion of ‘nationally significant infrastructure projects’ by way of development consent order under the Planning Act 2008, Transport and Works Act orders and compulsory purchase orders.

Advised:  

  • London Borough of Haringey on planning, transport, and compulsory purchase and stopping up orders for the re-development of the White Hart Lane stadium and comprehensive urban regeneration by Tottenham Hotspur Football Club including new 56,250 seat stadium, 200 residential units and 150 room hotel. ​

  • London Borough of Barnet on planning, transport and 5 compulsory purchase orders for the Brent Cross/Cricklewood regeneration project, including refurbishment of the Brent Cross shopping centre and the comprehensive regeneration of Cricklewood, including a new town centre and 7,500 homes

  • National Grid Ventures on major planning applications and compulsory purchase orders for the UK elements of the North Sea Link Interconnector to Norway, and Viking Link Interconnector to Denmark

  • Wheelabrator Technologies Inc on a development consent order for two energy-from-waste generating stations in Kent

  • National Grid Gas Plc on a development consent order including compulsory purchase powers for a 6km tunnelled section of high-pressure gas transmission pipeline under the River Humber

  • National Grid Electricity Transmission Plc on a development consent order including compulsory purchase powers for a new high-voltage overhead electricity line in Norfolk.
