The general pattern is that clauses are now being changed to include lease terminations explicitly in case of a pandemic, although rent suspensions due to lockdowns have been proving more difficult to lock in. With the County Court judge ruling that a half reduction in rent is not fair and reasonable to include in a lease in the event of another lockdown, the general message for landlords would be not to accept any changes.
